Janet Jackson confirms pregnancy at age 50
American singer Janet Jackson has announced she is pregnant with her first child with husband Wissam Al Mana.
The news comes after Jackson postponed her Unbreakable World Tour back in April so that she could "plan" a family, PEOPLE reports.
“We thank God for our blessing,” she said.
Jackson revealed her decision in a video posted to her Twitter account, in which she apologised to fans for the delay.
“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change,” Jackson said.
“My husband and I are planning our family… Please, if you can try and understand it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders.
“I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
Unbreakable, released on October 2, 2015, marks Jackson’s eleventh studio album.
Jackson is the youngest child of the Jackson family, sister to late singer Michael Jackson.
Back in April, the No Sleep singer announced she was delaying her Unbreakable tour because she and her husband, businessman Wissam Al Mana, were "planning our family".
She later posted video to her Twitter account to announce the news.
