One Killed As Herdsmen, Farmers Clash
The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed the killing of one person in a latest clash between herdsmen and farmers in Kwayine Village of Demsa Local Government Area.
Kwayine is a few kilometres from Kodomon Village where about 20 people recently lost their lives in a similar clash.
The Adamawa police spokesperson, Othman Abubakar, said the incident which occurred Tuesday had been brought under control with adequate police deployment.
A resident of the affected village, Hannatu Bulus, said many residents had abandoned the village, leaving their yet to be harvested farm produce.
Ms. Bulus claimed that two people were killed in the Wednesday’s clash.
Meanwhile, a committee set up about two months ago by the Adamawa State Government to look into the frequent conflicts between farmers and herdsmen is yet to submit its report.
