Kylian Mbappe Always Watches Premier League Leaders Chelsea - Uncle
Monaco Forward, Kylian Mbappe’s uncle has revealed the Monaco
star always watches Chelsea games
amid speculation he could be set to join the Premier League.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough
season in France, scoring a staggering 22 goals in 35 games as Monaco have
stormed to the top of Ligue 1.
His performances for the French high-flyers have not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all in the race to land the striker.
And the France international’s uncle admits he
often watches Premier League leaders Chelsea on TV, as well as Spanish giants
Barcelona and Real Madrid and Serie A outfit Juventus.
Ahead of Monaco’s Champions League semi-final
against Juve, Pierre Mbappe told Tuttosport: ‘Kylian does not need to watch Juventus before their Champions
League meeting because he already knows Juve very well.
‘He watched their games every week and he’s been doing it for very long time. He also watches Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea.
‘Anything can happen in the future, but he’s
very happy at Monaco, we’ll talk about it [a possible transfer] at the right
time.’
Pierre Mbappe, who is one of Kylian’s advisors,
also revealed who the teenager looks up to in the game.
‘His role models are Ronaldo, Trezeguet and Neymar,’ he added. ‘He also watched many videos of Zidane in the past and he admires Buffon and Inzaghi.’
Mbappe recently played down his remarkable
achievements this season, while also confirming he plans to leave Monaco at
some stage in the future.
‘Scoring 60 goals would be extraordinary, but managing 14 in Ligue 1 is not. Buffon and Totti are two legends and my parents taught me to be an educated person who should always learn from people with more experience than me,’ he said.
‘I’d like to win the Ballon d’Or, the Champions
League and be a regular starter for France. I’d like to leave a mark with
Monaco before I leave. I am only focused on this season.’
